Beat the Retreat 2020 - DJ Antix exclusive (set 2) - 30Aug20

August 23, 2020

street art image of hand painted tiles arranged to form animals on a footpath

It was a special moment for me to perform for 120 veterans & first responders AND to warm-up for the Tony Q band at the inaugural "Beat the Retreat" 2020 country music event in-lieu of the cancelled Gympie Ute Muster.

The stage setup was on a semi-trailer with a cutout shipping container at Veterans Retreat, an amazing working farm and respite location aimed at helping veterans, first responders and their families through meaningful social engagement.

This set was inspired by pop/house music that had energy that everyone could sing and COVID distanced dance along to, but wouldn't overpower the headliner! Mindfulness through music....Enjoy

The street art image was taken during Tour Stop 1 - Veterans Retreat in Mothar Mountain, Gympie at the main park. It's one of a number of mindful photography images taken in this location and depicts several handpainted animals that have created a footpath using a mosaic style of paving.
